I think it’ll be a better experience for both the promoters and attendees alike. Of course, that doesn’t mean that getting a fee waiver from the San Bernardino City Council is a sure thing, as the issue of granting fee waivers was raised in that city as well last year.Īll in all, though, I think it’s a good change. The move to San Bernardino also avoids a fight with the Redlands City Council over fee waivers for the event, which became an issue last year. Last year, the presence of those endangered rodents in a 40-acre plot of land used for parking nearly derailed the AirFest.Īlso, parking in general should be much easier at the airport, as opposed to having to find spots for attendees’ vehicles in the areas surrounding the Redlands Airport, the previous home for the AirFest. Well, for one, it eliminates the issue with kangaroo rats making potential parking off-limits. The event will mash together a car show, air fest, beer fest and concert. The combined event, now known as the Hangar 24 SBD AirFest, is set for May 30-31 at San Bernardino International Airport. Hangar 24 Craft Brewing’s AirFest is joining forces with the SBD Fest.

Huicho’s Mexican Food has opened at 11221 California St., Redlands. There’s a new restaurant in Redlands, and it’s only been around for about eight years. There are similar Rodeo Cafes in Jurupa Valley and Norco. Pepper Ave., Rialto, has been transformed into the Rodeo Cafe. The longtime Peppermill Char Burger, 505 S. Just a few blocks north, another change has come. On one building, signs are up for two future eateries: The Buffalo Spot, and a drive-thru WaBa Grill.Īnd another building has signage noting a future Black Bear Diner. There’s plenty going on on the northwest corner as well. Next door to Habit Burger, signage is up indicating Firehouse Subs is coming soon. In that center, construction is continuing on a standalone building that is likely going to be Popeyes.
